The ever-inviting town of Blowing Rock is gearing up to host their 21st annual WinterFest this weekend! The beloved celebration of the fun side of the winter season will take place all around town from Thursday the 24th through Sunday the 27th, and include a wide variety of events to appeal to people of all ages and interests.
Among the events will be a Rotary Charity Chili Challenge, taking place in the Blowing Rock Elementary School Gym on Saturday from 11:30-2pm. Here you will be able to sample chili from local non-profit organizations (most prepared by local restaurants) and “vote” for your favorites by helping to fill up their tip jars! All proceeds go directly to the charities and Blue Ridge Realty & Investment’s very own Realtor®, Irene Sawyer, will be there with the High Country Breast Cancer Foundation, which she founded in 2017.
There will also be an ice sculpture stroll taking place all along the downtown area of Blowing Rock. The Blue Ridge Realty & Investments office at 1129 Main Street will have an ice sculpture outside and they’ll be well prepared with hot chocolate, cider and coffee inside, so feel free to stop by to say hello whenever you need a warm-up!
Other popular events include the Polar Plunge into freezing Chetola Lake, WinterFeast, WinterPaws Dog Show, WinterFashion Show, live ice carving, and a Winter Beer Garden.
